Ming Chi University of Technology – Registration for the 2025 Deepening First Mile Online Course

Course information for the 2025 Deepening First Mile Course is as follows:

  1. Course Content:
    The university will offer a one-week “Deepening First Mile Basic Course” before the start of the semester. This course is optional and aims to help freshmen strengthen their basic knowledge of AI before the semester begins, thereby improving their learning effectiveness in academic and practical courses. Simple after-class assignments and online exams will be arranged to deepen students’ understanding and impression of the AI field.

    August 25, 2025 (Monday) to August 29, 2025 (Friday)

  3. Instructor:
    Lecturer Cheng Chien-Feng, Zhitai Technology Co., Ltd.

  4. Course Format:
    Online course, conducted synchronously via MS Teams

  5. Participants:
    All first-year freshmen

  6. Course Fee:
    Free of charge

  7. Learning Method:
    Online synchronous classes. After registration closes, course information will be sent to students’ school e-mail accounts.

    From now until Friday, August 22, 2025, at 12:00 noon

Additional Notes:

  1. VisLab software will be used for practical exercises during the five-day course. The instructor has provided software installation instructions and hardware requirements for the standalone version. Students will be asked to install the software in advance. Related information will be announced separately, so please stay informed.

  2. Mac computers may be used for the course. However, please note that the afternoon practical activities require Windows 10 or above to operate the software functions smoothly.

  3. Students are advised to prepare laptops with compatible systems as much as possible to facilitate the practical exercises. Thank you for your cooperation.

  1. The course is divided into two parts, scheduled in the morning and afternoon respectively, for a total of 30 lessons (50 minutes per lesson).
    Morning sessions focus on AI-related theories, while afternoon sessions emphasize practical AI applications in daily life.
